Hope someone can help with this;
How do you remove the forend & slide from the magazine tube on a model 12?
The screw cap can't come off forewards & the ring on the magazine tube stops the slide coming off rearwards.
I don't want to break anything so I thought I'd better ask first.
Thanks.

First separate the barrel/magazine from the reciever. At the front of the magazine is a pin that protrudes from the tube to the left of the barrel. Push in. Twist the magazine tube (about 2/3 of a turn) to unscrew it from the receiver. Looking down from the muzzle, twist counterclockwise. Pull foward. Twist the barrel/magazine assembly counterclockwise from the receiver. You have now done the "takedown".
Second, the magazine cap at the end of the magazine tube needs to be unscrewed. Unscrew the small screws on each side. Careful on this, the magazine spring can send the cap flying.
Third, the forward ring on the magazine tube has a screw on the left and a screw on the right. Unscrew both. This takes friction off the barrel. The forearm can then be pulled forward free of the barrel.

Fourth, if you wish to take the forearm off of the the slide, the metal ring at the muzzle end of the forearm unscrews.

Careful on all the screws, they mar easily.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that,
I had another look at it last night.
Once you get the 'action slide screw cap' undone, it will slip over the pressed out 'stop' on the magazine tube, then it's easy.

Should the 'action slide spring' be above the ring that's brazed onto magazine tube? (on the screw cap end of the tube)
Mine is fitted below, I think someone put it on wrong?
