Greeting's Folk's-

I need your help on this one, please. I've been look'in at a NIB
Winchester model 70 (nice wood and blue) in .270 Winchester
that has actually been sitting in our racks for quite some time.
Every time I pick this gun up it seems too call my name. And,
with the advent of Winchester (as we know it) having ceased
operations on 31 March of 06, I was think'in about acquiring it.
Its priced at $679 (even my price), and I really can't afford it
right now; due to house and car insurance premiums due, car
tags due, and a few other little knit pickey thing's. My employer
will let me lay it away, with an easy payment plan; so what do
you think? Keep in mind, that I am not a hunter so the rifle most
likely would only be shot occassionally.:uhoh:

I'm not too familiar with new model 70s, but that seems a tad high. If you like it, I say GFI! .270 is an awesome round, very versatile. Just how much convincing do you really need anyway?

I have the same gun, and it is a shooter. Love it. I got into .270 because my grandpap shot it, so it seemed to make sense to me. All I can say is you will not regret adding one to the collection.

Gentlemen:

I guess its priced a tad too high due to Winchester (U.S. Repeating Arms)
recent folding? Its a real nice look'in gun, and if I decide to get it; I don't
mind paying a little extra. Like I said, I don't hunt; so in all likely hood it
will just be another one to pass down (historically speaking) to my grand
daughter; hoping that she would keep it in the family~? :D
