I've been looking for some Winchester RA9TA (Ranger SXT 127 grain +p+) or Federal 9BPLE (115 grain +p+) and I've found neither at a decent deal.

This morning I came across a 500 round sealed case of Winchester Ranger 9mm +P JHP RA9115HP+ for a little over 300.00 and bought it. I've heard good things about this round, but never shot this particular load.

I know this round has been around awhile, but it still tends to get a lot of respect in LEO circles. What are your thoughts / experiences with this load?

Very expensive ammunition small black box (pack of 25 if I remember correctly) at Walmart was >$20. I don't see how you can go wrong with that purchase.

Might be a little pricey, but I think you did OK given the dearth of ammo these days.

I prefer heavy-for-caliber JHPs, but I'd carry those without a worry.

I've carried and shot this load. Very nice, not much recoil, and seems to do what it needs to do on impact of targets at the range.

Good to know guys. Thought it was worth picking up. Another good indicator is that this buy is no longer available. The free market strikes again.

I also carry 127 grain +P+, but I had to get 200 rounds of the 115 grain +P+ until the other is ready. One of my former Platoon members sells it so I'm lucky, i will eventually get it.

Yep. It doesn't use the T-series (black talon) bullets, and it doesn't have nickel plated cases, but it's still a great load.

I have never seen Winchester ranger ammo loaded to +p+ pressure. I have seen it loaded to NATO pressure which is not a lot more than SAAMI. The 124 gr NATO load is 80 FPS faster than Aguilia 124 gr ammo, which is loaded pretty hot.
