I bought a hard case as described in the subject for my CZ 550 Varmint with a Bushnell Elite 4200 Tactical scope.
The problem is, those target knobs sure as heck stick out and with all of the egg crate padding in, the case won't close. If I take out the bottom egg crate foam, there is still some foam glued to the bottom that I can place the gun on.
Would it be a good idea to see if I can cut the bottom portion of egg crate padding to fit around the gun? Most of the other cases that I know for a fact would fit the gun were in the 30lb range and cost over $200 and I don't think I would have anywhere to store them.
Kind of disappointing to drop $100 on something and not be completely satisfied.
BTW this is just for toting the gun around in a truck, no air travel is expected.
