Darn, I was looking for a 3.65" semi/steel/compact/9mm/SA and it sure fills the bill. These are the limit measurements in Pocket Carry Competition Assn. Anybody know of its twin?

Yeah, it's too bad the support isn't there.

When my Witness .45 worked, I loved it. When it started giving me problems and EAA wouldn't even discuss it with me, the gun became a safe queen.

Still a good looking gun, though.

CZ 2075Rami has been considered. The Witness weighs thirty ozs, a little bit of advantage over the Rami. Buying for competition, not carry. Wouldn't care if it weighed 48 ozs.

Well, that is exactly against the spirit of the "game".

I have two Witnesses, one is the compact 10mm. It's been an excellent gun, though required two minor modifications to run 100% with my hot handloads (beveling the extractor, wolf extra power mag springs) because they cycle the lighter slide very fast.



As for EAA's customer service, I've actually never had a problem. Granted, my guns have never broken, but they were always helpful in answering questions and in ordering magazines, recoil springs, etc. Are they as good as S&W or Kel Tec? Nope, not many are. Would I buy more products from them? You bet.

I will tell you, though, that the Witness Compact really isn't all that compact; It's as large and heavy as my S&W 5906. It carries decent, but pretty much requires the same accomodations as a full size gun. I only carry it when I'm going somewhere that I feel there is a greater chance of needing more firepower than my P3AT or PF9 offer.

My carry gun for the last forty years is a lw Commander 45 acp.



Can't use it in PCCA. So I'm trying to find something close.

I did just order a 3" heavy barrel for my 15-2 Dan Wesson from EWK Arms. He makes faithful repros of the Dan Wesson barrels and shrouds. Qualifies for Discreet Carry Class.

I am sure that rule book will be a moving target for some time. Kinda hard to determine "Spirit of the Game" isn't it?

Sadly No, since I'm a couple hundred miles away from the nearest shoot. Its a brilliant idea though.

Stole the words right out of my mouth. I didn't even have a problem with my Witness and had called a couple times and emailed a few times to get info on magazines and conversions. That was enough to convince me I didn't want to wait around to find out if the gun was going to be a problem.

Sam Cade, I am a gamer. There is enough evidence in the cowboy crowd to convict me. However; I never broke a rule. I shoot a 105gr 38spl over 3.2gr American Select @ 795fps. Chrono'd at the World Championship in 2007. More than met their specifications. Totally tricked out 3 screws Win 1873 and a butter smooth M97 20" barrel. Custom holsters.

Started in 2000 and become aware of a malady. I coined it the LBN disease. Generally, the affliction was rampant in the "low badge number" members. You know, the ones who shot compressed 45 Colt loads, doubles (M97s were not fitting) with the Remington black hulls and and 45 Colts in a Winchester 94. They looked at us with the "drown in a downpour" attitude and talked about the "real west". You may know them. Some drove Bluebirds pulling the little silver cars with the star on the hood. Pushed around 3 wheel golf carts. Old west style. And almost to a man, would never place more than halfway up the list of shooters.
Game? Uhhhh......it IS a "game".

PCCA is a "game. IDPA is a "game". Now life; that is not a game and I will cheat as much as I can to win.

I acquired a '93 vintage Witenss Compact all-steel, and found there was a company recall concerning firing pins. Called the company CSR, and lo and behold, I have a brand new firing pin installed, at no cost. I shipped through my local armorer.

The Witness is a pistol that has created very many indecision moments at home for me, as to carrying it, or carrying my BHP! I shoot a variety of NON-PLUS-P ammunition (company suggestion from website), and the Witness just says 'Yummy!', and keeps going. It can be carried in Condition 1, or hammer down for DA use.

Have fun with it, and know that it is designed to shoot accurately, and will send Patriot Injection Modules downrange to where you aim.

My Witness Compact .40 is my truck gun because I carry it loaded chamber and hammer down. The DA pull is what I was after for a vibration heavy enviroment. The gun is very accurate and never burped on issued WW LEO 180 grain Ranger ammo.

Looks to be about same size as Armalite AR-24 compact.

Slightly larger, as the newer Witness pistols all use the .45/10mm frame to make conversions a breeze.

They are, of course, CZ-75 Clones just like the Armalite (Sarzilmas). Tanfolgio used to even call them the TZ-75

The one Witness I owned was a lemon from the get go. The machine work inside was less than great. The hammer would sometimes stick in the cocked position. I'd stick with CZ.

EAA requires break in... I have an m88 and had some slide issues when I first stared running the gun that has worked itself out now. Yes you can carry cocked and locked.
