Yeah, I know it's an odd request... but I can't help but see a lot of character in guns with worn finish.

So let's see 'em!

Here's my poor ol' FEG's ugly, worn blue finish:

Wow I thought I was the only one who could "melt" the finish off the backstrap of an FEG.

I'm pretty hard on all my guns, but the older FEG certainly shows more wear.

60's era Colt Agent. Worn daily, shot often. Ain't pretty but it will surely get the job done!

I'm not a lefty but apparently the last owner was...:D

Wes - I am not even sure about the accuracy of the ''Sulfuric Acid'' diagnosis earlier!:D Sheesh .. that has to ''Aqua Regia'' or stronger!:p

Here is my offering .. the ol' M85, retired after I got the SP-101 ... it sure has some loss of luster ... not to mention (which you can't see too well ... and anyways I painted some of it out cos so ashamed!!) .... top of left grip panel - nasty pitting rust! Damned sweat!

Still shoots well tho!

Ah, I wondered what that was. :D Yes, rust sucks. Pitting sucks worse.

You know, I had no clue that I might have 'corrosive sweat' until a day or two ago. I sure liked it better when I could blame the blued finish. :p At any rate, I guess sweating isn't something that can be changed or helped.

I actually think things like guns look better with a little honest wear on them. That means they've been used as intended, and hopefully performed well. They have a history.

I definitely agree.

Seeing a gun with a worn finish means I know that it can take abuse and keep going. It gives character and tells stories. It also reduces resale value so I can get old stuff cheap :neener:

My gun with the most miles on it looks kist like it did the day I I got it back from AP&W with a full hard chrome finish. The finish just does not wear, and is almost impossible to scratch.
