I have been looking for a M&P9 pro series 5". As we all know its hard to find what you want at the time.

My local dealer sells this gun for 579+tax. It's back ordered till may.

I found a used one. Test fired by S&W on 5/25/2012. About 300-500 rounds they it. He is asking 550.

At gun shows, gun broker and armslist they are going for up to 850.

Should I jump on the deal or wait for a new one?

Do you want it now because of the impending mag cap legislation? If so I would try to track down the mags now and buy the gun new when available.

This, and I'm impatient. But if its worth th wait I will wait.

Do you KNOW that YOU will have a NIB Pro by May? (Just because S+W will have them out by then is your dealer confident that HE will get one for you from his distributor?) From what I've seen 579 is a pretty good price for a new one. If you can't wait make a lower offer on the used one and see what happens. If it's used, not abused I would consider it. At 300-500 rounds it's not REAL used!

I would offer $450, let the seller haggle you from there. If you aren't embarrassed by your offer, then its not low enough.:)

I'd buy the mags and wait for things to settle down.

No point paying an extra $200 when you don't have to.

Like the old saying goes, "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush". You have the opportunity to get what you want now or you can chance it and maybe get what you want at some unspecified future date. All adds up to the proverbial personal choice.
