As much as we might not like to admit it, I think everybody has a story about some true idiot they met at the range.
The most memorable for me was when I was working a Hunter Sight-in Day at our range. Two weekends a year we would let non-members bring their hunting rifles in to help them sight them in for $5.00 per gun. The standard rule was you needed to get one in the black at 100 yd's before you could go to the 200 yard range. This guy walks up to my station with his brand new .378 Wby Mag and says he knows he is on at 100, so he wanted to go directly to 200. I told him the rules were the rules, but if he could put one in the black with his first shot I would let him to got 200 after that. He grumbled but set up at the bench. Wouldn't ya know it, his first shot didn't even hit the target carrier. Long story short this guy was such a jerk I let him go through 30 rounds of .378 Wby Mag before I took pity on him and bore sighted his rifle for him. His right eye looked like he'd been in a prize fight.
