I purchased a yugo m44a mauser where the rear sight was replaced with a scope mount. I am more into the iron sights for this guy and had to go locate the rear sight and sight spring. now I am trying to reassemble the pieces. I have been trying for the past hour and I am wondering if anyone knows any tips or resources that might help me get this spring in place for the rear sight. So far I haven't been able to find any youtube videos or good online sources.

Thanks a bunch!

The rear sight spring slides into the base and has a dovetail on the sides that engage on the sides of the base.
Now ,the hard part on some Mausers is to get the rear Sight Blade back on.
I found the best way is to remove the barred action from the stock, and use a " C ' clamp to compress the rear sight blade into the slot so the two pivot pin ears engage in the slots.
Then when you have got the pivots in place, tap the rear sight blade forward, and it will follow the slots in the rear sight base.
Try assembling it without the spring first, so you see how the pivot pins engage and see how you will have to clamp the barrel and rear sight blade to get the rear sight blade to press down far enough when the spring is installed.
