I finally got to shoot my M-48A today but I only had two stipper clips of Turk 8mm (10 rounds). I set up a target at 15 yards and used my elbows as rests. I fired two strings of 5 and checked the traget after each string.
I got a nice group but there was some horozontal stringing in each group. Each group was about 1" long and .5" high measuring from outside edge to outside edge (not center to center). I don't know why I was getting the horozontal groups but I bet it was me and not the gun.
It showed me that it was basically on target (a little to the right) and everything was working correctly. I was surprised that the recoil was not as bad as my Truk 8mm. Even from the bench, the recoil was almost mild. I had a slip on butt pad which may have helped a bit but I still think the recoil was less than the Truk.
