Zavasta PAP M70 and Timbersmith wood?

I've got a Zastava PAP M70 AK47 but do not like the blond wood that came with it. Ive seen Timbersmith wood at gun shows and online and I like the look of the black laminate one. Now does anybody on here have any experience with the two? Will the Timbersmith wood work on my AK? Appreciate any info you all might have on this. Thanks!

I don't think it will work, as those are patterned for AKM style rifles and your PAP M70 is a Yugo pattern gun. Try Ironwood Designs.

That's what I'm leaning towards as the wood is fine, just don't care for the light color. Wishing it was a little darker.

here's a picture of it with my Vector underfolder. Will be picking up some stuff to sand and stain the wood to a darker finish. Will post before and after pictures once I'm done.

You could just take it down to bare and refinish.

Is the bolt carrier on the underfolder finished with some dark coat, or is it just the lighting?

It's interesting to see the differences between the M70 and standard AK- shorter sight base, gas block moved back, more open receiver cover, shorter BC, different receiver shape...
