I Just put an EOTech 552 on my DPMS flattop with a Midwest Manufacturing flip up rear sight. My question is, if I zero at 25 meters with the long range peep on the flip up sight (battle zero for 325m) and then zero the EOTech at 25m, am I battle zeroed the same as the iron sights?

You can lay the dot right on top of the front post looking through the rear sight... it's called 'cowittnessing' the sights.

But move your head and that dot is going to move. Theoretically it's great if you shoulder your gun exactly the same way every single time. Me... I guess I ain't that good. :p

That's what I always do.

I had just swapped some optics around last week. Looking through the rear aperture, I put the dot right on the edge of the front sight post like it was a dot of paint on the post (the irons were already zeroed). Took it to the range yesterday and bang, ten rounds right on the zero.

Markbo's right though, you have to make sure your cheekweld is good. I set my cheekbone right on the stock and touch my nose to the charging handle. That way I know I'm always in the same spot.

Thanks guys. I cowitnessed the sights just like you mentioned and the 25 yard zero is right on. I was just wondering if that meant I was battle zeroed at 325m with the EOTech.
