They're having a Memorial Day Sale and I just built a complete AR-15 for $443 shipped......that's awesome!

PSA Blem Lower with enhanced trigger = $150
Melonite Freedom Upper 1:7 twist = $189
M-16 Bolt Carrier with Charging Handle = $104

The Bolt is carpenter 158 and the carrier is fully staked with grade 8 hardware.

It'll cost me $27 for the transfer and background on the lower

Grand total out the door and in my hands.....$470!!

Once I get my M&P Sport repaired, I'm going to try and trade straight across for a pistol at a gun show, not sure what yet.

The M&P is junk, based on a serious failure at 2000 rounds.

I'm suspecting the gas block let go, because it will not chamber a round after the first round is fired and ejected.

Its going bye-bye anyway, the PSA is just as good, if not better for $200 less money.

Its a 1:7 twist, versus a 1:9 twist.....which means I can shoot 75 and 77 grain bullets.

got my two enhanced lower parts kits in a week from order FREE ground UPS. yesterday
They ship fast. Getting a boron coated FA bolt for Memorial day sale

How do you know how good the PSA is when you've never even touched it yet?

I built a 9mm carbine from a PSA upper and Glock compatible lower and so far the firing pin has jammed forward about 10 times and it doubled on me once. The more I shoot it the less I trust it.

Until you have a few rounds through it there's really no way to know how good it is.

Not a bad deal but you can get a lot of AR15s these days right around $500 OTD. I know people are picking up S&W Sport V2s for $507 shipped. So about $517-$537 depending on what you pay for transfers and that gun comes with a Magpul rear BUIS and the best no BS warranty in the business.

I know your S&W crapped out on you but what makes you believe that they are all crap or that the PSA won't have a similar issue down the road?

All poodles are dogs not all dogs are poodles.

Around here, the best deal going on M&P's is around $650 out the door. Prices run high in Colorado for everything.

With the PSA sale, I'm getting into this rifle for $180 less money, I'll take my chances.

Its definitely got a better bolt and bolt carrier in it, better twist barrel and a true melonite coating.

I should have bought the Ruger in the first place, lol.

I've got a bad taste in my mouth now and I'm done with S&W. 2000 rounds is nothing for an AR and it failed.

I'd figure out was wrong with the Smith before I got too excited. Probably something simple like gummed up gas rings. Ive had new Colt AR's that stopped working after fewer rounds down the tube.

Its a complete lower with standard 6 position stock.....for $150.

Most of the reviews on the site state that they can't find the "blem".

99% of the reviews on the PSA rifles are stellar, people are really happy with their stuff.

I'm going to see if I can go straight across for an XD Mod 2 in 40 cal at the next gun show.

I read your other thread.

I doubt VERY much that S&W and PSA house builds have significantly different chances of having a gas block come loose after a couple thousand rounds.

I wouldn't even bother shipping a gun off and waiting for something that simple; I would just take it to a local smith who can likely center and re-pin the gas block in just a few minutes.

Granted ARs are commoditized more than ever before, but sometimes when you are trying to buy the cheapest widget on the market, you get what you pay for. Not saying that is a factor here, but sometimes it is.

All this shipping and buying and selling is definitely costing you more than it would to just fix the issue on the first rifle and keep rolling.

S&W has the shipping covered both ways. I'll be trading up a rifle that has 2000 rounds through it and at worst, breaking even with a new rifle, that has better components.

Had I known about PSA's stellar deals when I bought the M&P last Sept, I never would have bought the Smith.

It sort of amazes me when someone buys a bottom feeder rifle and is upset because it does not perform like a top tier gun and to remedy the situation they buy another bottom feeder rifle.

The S&W and the PSA that you just bought are about the same in that you are getting what you pay for nothing more nothing less.

I hope it works out for you but IMHO the S&W warranty would give me a lot more faith in the rifle and its longevity than PSA. Clearly YMMV.

They've already shipped the lower....that was fast!
My upper shipped today as well. PSA is getting better on that I guess.

I agree with the others that you have soured too easily on the Smith, although I do understand the frustration.

Just wait 12 hours, PSA will drop the price on the parts you just bought by $50.... Hate when they do that
Yep, but if you wait, sometimes you miss out too.

Cabelas had a scope on sale for over $150 off, and I bought one, then they dropped it another $60. *sigh* The scope is so nice it is tempting to buy another.

Looking forward to the range report on the Smith when it returns and the PSA after you run it awhile.

I agree with Jackal, based on the material specs, the PSA is a better rifle. Better barrel, better twist, true melonite, mil-spec bolt and carrier, and it has the polished trigger group.

For $470!
