Nill Grips

I love Nill grips. I have two sets right now and I'll be adding more. They are expensive but to me they are worth it.

I find the stippled models really stay seated in my hand well. The main reason I first tried them out was because L frame grips that leave the blackstrap open are a tad too small for me. Nill is one of the few makers that offer closed blackstrap models for L frames in a combat configuration with finger grooves. Here are the two sets I have.

View media item 95I like the thumb shelf model on my PC gun since that's a target gun for me. Despite the 6" barrel and heavy barrel, that gun balances perfectly for me and I attribute it to the grip. I'd love to hunt with it, but finding a holster is a bitch. I may have to hit up CraigC to see if he'll do a custom build.

The ambidextrous grip on the 3" is fantastic for a defensive gun. I do carry that gun openly while hiking.

The seam where the grips come together is so finely cut you almost can't see it. The figuring of the wood is beautiful to my eye when looked at close.

They aren't custom, but they fit me well enough that I don't really feel the need to spend more money on true custom fit grips.

I don't own them but have shot revolvers with them. I didn't notice they felt any better than other high quality revolver grips but they were some of the best looking grips I have ever seen.

Expensive but worth it. Would love a pair for my CZ P01, SIG P229, and SIG Trailside.

I bought a pristine 4" Colt Python made in 1969 for $1500 about 5 years ago that someone had put some hideous aftermarket grips on. Several knowledgeable people looked at it and thought it was unfired. I bought some Nill grips to put on it (about 1/2 the price of period correct, factory Colt grips) and they fit like a glove. The grips were very comfortable and looked great.

After firing the handgun 36 times, I was afraid of the gun getting ruined on my watch so I sold it for $1800 making about $75 profit (even after buying the grips). Used the money to buy a STI Marauder that I am comfortable using for 3-gun competition.

Those grips are great quality.
