I've been thinking of ordering a set of the Nill combat grips for my SIG-SAUER P226. I've heard nothing but good things about them, but nearly $150 seems fairly steep for a set of grips.

I am sure they are worth it in terms of quality and craftsmanship, but are they worth it in terms of ergonomic improvement over the factory grips? The pistol currently sports the pebble plastic grips with the manufacturer's logo on one side and the model number on the other. I like them just fine, but, again, I have heard people speak very highly of Nill grips, and not just about their appearance.

For disclosure, I'll admit that at a certain level I just am in the mood to blow some money on gun stuff, but range time and ammo are already budgeted for. Thanks for any input!

I think only each individual can decide if they are worth it, they sure look good though. I like the old-school plastic checkered ones on my circa 1992 W. German P226. Another option is the new Hogue aluminum grips. The look really good and have many different color options (including flames of course ;) ). http://www.getgrip.com/main/overview/ExtremeSIG.html
