Well, 1st post. Really enjoyed lurking for awhile. You folks seem to know your stuff, and I appreciate the forums.

I have a Remington 870 express, "tactical", 18" barrel, purchased during the scare of '09. It is currently nestled on a bed-frame cradle 1-2 feet from my left arm. I would like to place a flashlight mount on it, but noted that most of the decent mounts require an extended tube, of which I have the dimples and probably won't retro.

So, I don't want to spend $300, but and willing to spend maybe $30-50 on a mount and maybe another small chunk on a light.

Any suggestions on either?

There is short rail piece that attaches via flat ring between mag cap and barrel ring like Scattergun Technologies sling swivel. Not sure how effective that is but those are out there.

Who knows. ?
Maybe this is just what you want. It is in the price range that you mentioned. It does have a quick detach mount.

It says NEBO and PROTEC on it.
Good luck, I don't know if it is still available. Amazon.com I think.

I have one like that which was made by Streamlight. Got it When I was picking up my Receiver for my AMD about 10 years ago, they don't make it anymore, but they're bound to turn up on GunBroker and at gun shows. I used it with a cheap rail light, worked fine, though I doubt that cheap light would hold up to lots of use. Point the rail towards the muzzle, you'll smack your thumb on it facing back.

Thanks for the reply. I just have the 870 for HD, so hopefully it will not need lots of use, haha. But these are strange times...I do shoot it from time to time, and have even taken it apart to clean and lube! lol. If ever needed though, a light would certainly be helpful. Thanks again.

Amazon has both. Looks like I can get the light around $30 and the mount for $18. For my use, this may be just fine....Thanks.
