Yes, I know blasphemy!

I joined a new indoor range. I can bring my own ammo (yes I can disguise my reloads) but I will loose a lot of brass forward of the shooting line and I do not want to sort through buckets of my brass to find the exact headstamp.

Anyway I want to buy a case (1000) of either 115 or 124 gr fmj. Then I will have factory boxes and brass

Using ammo seek search, I can get several brands for the same price per round. So does it make a difference in the brass?? ( I am not picky I load everything):)

So, out of these or name same other.

You make the call. Thanks

Speer Lawman
CCI (Independence or Blazer BRASS)
Magtech
PMC

American Eagle (Federal “FC” brass)

You might consider shooting your old brass at the indoor range where you will lose some of it and shoot the new stuff wherever you can collect all of it and know that you have truly once fired brass for future reloads.

I load mixed brass in 9mm and could not tell any difference in loading or functionality in any of the brands you describe, nor fiocchi, "Herters", remington, UMC, winchester, Federal, or S&B. All load and shoot fine for me. In principle I prefer the brass without the additional internal cup or step that some stuff has now, but in practice, with my moderate "range" loads and plated bullets, I have noticed zero difference even using that brass. No, I don't remember which brands have that, sorry.

"...want to buy a case..." Don't buy a case of anything until you've tried a box of as many brands as you can to find the ammo your pistol shoots and cycles best. The price of it means nothing.
Have you asked about picking up your brass? Not every indoor range confiscates their customer's property.
Federal brass is well known for being softer than other brands. Only means it doesn't last as long. Which brand of 9mm doesn't make much difference though.

I think that there is truth in the idea that if you throw enough money at a problem, any problem, that problem goes away.

Anyway...

May we assume that you paid money to join an organization that does not allow members to use their handloaded ammo?

Yes, I know blasphemy!

We have decided through much reflection and contemplation to give you a special dispensation. Handloading is after all, a kind of religion. Carry on.

Freedom Munitions in either new brass or reloaded brass is usually a good deal on 1000 rounds.

Will not go NEAR any of their garbage!!

What does throwing money have to do with anything,?? don't bother don't answer.

Yes I reload about any kind of brass and pretty much all handgun calibers and 3 rifle.: I have buckets of it.

I belong to a private outdoor range where I can shoot anytime and shoot anything, it is to freaking hot, humid and raining, so I need air-conditioned comfort in this top notch state of the art indoor facility Owned and designed by a Special Forces guy and some rich investors.OK??

YES, I can pick up my own brass,

Yes, I joined knowing the rules

No, there are no hand loads or re manufactured ammo allowed (see my first post) I want the factory boxes and same headstamp brass so I can "sneak" in my dangerous handloads I will pick up all I can but some will always go forward of the firing line,

Yes, LEAD bullets are allowed

Never ASSUME anything. It was a simple question.

Yes, placing your OP on a reloading page was blasphemy. But I see you have already been granted a dispensation, so welcome back the fold "Brother Rule3".

I've always had good luck with CCI, so it would be my first pick.

I think Midsouth had 9mm on sale yesterday. Might want to take a look before you "pull the trigger".

higgite, that's the fun of range brass, you never know if it's once fired or served in Vietnam with your father.

Or if it didn’t serve in Vietnam at all but has been “once-fired” 14 times. ;) I’m just saying if you know you’re going to lose some brass, why not lose old brass as opposed to truly once fired factory brass like Rule3 is asking about?

So you need same headstamp for fake factory?
I use Winchester when I care, which is only when I am testing for velocity and accuracy.

Fortunately, the new indoor range here doesn't care. I shoot reloads out of baggies and I pick up my empties and all of my predecessors' that I can reach.

I said a few Hail Marys but don't know if they count, I am not Catholic:)

Brownells as MagTech on sale and I have coup for free ship and $20 off.

Do they check your ammunition on the way in? I keep an eye on the garbage can for the used/like new empty boxes and scarf some when I get a chance so mine don't look tattered and torn from being well used. That is a tell tale sign that your using re-loads. One of the ranges I used had the same rule, I'd reach in my range bag and pull out a new box with my reloads in it and they were happy. They never checked.
They had the same rule that if it hit the floor in front of the carpet that it was theirs. Not because they wanted it but their insurance underwriters said no one was allowed across the line on the shooting floor for any reason. I lived by that rule in there, but I never shot factory ammo and I think they new it. Make friends with them, it goes a long ways.
After a while they would show me a piece of brass that came out of one of their range guns and ask me what I saw when looking at it. They wanted to know if it was a reload, it usually was and I would tell them when it was. Kept me on their good side.
I think most of what the ranges worry about is shooting reloads through their rented guns and they have no defense against that except to make reloads taboo for the entire range. Their insurance underwriter would never stand for that.
In my case, I never rented any guns from them and they new it so after a while they turned a blind eye to me shooting my ammo in my guns and pretty much forgot about it with me.

Your on the right track with having all new boxes and also keep your cases good and clean with some shine and they won't know the difference.

I tumbled mine after they were loaded so the machine marks go away.

That is from my past experience which sounds like it is paralleling yours right now.
Good luck

I forgot to answer your first question, around here in North Carolina when I moved here from Pa, I bought my first 9mm. I had no brass and the LGS that I was using had PMC Bronze ammo for a really good price so I bought some of it to try, it re-loads pretty well and is as good as any of the other brass that I re-loaded.
I think it was $220.00 for a full case at that time. I used the boxes to fool the range I went to. They must have thought I bought it by the case constantly because in the last ammo shortage they approached me and wanted to know if they could buy any surplus PMC I had from me. I told them I had no surplus left and laughed to myself the whole way to my truck that they though I was buying all this factory ammo. It was funny as hell!

I have had good results with IWI 115gr, Magtech 115gr, Geco 115r and MEN 124gr,all FMJ, as sourced from Ammoseek. The Geco and MEN were purchased from Lax Ammunition, can't remember where the other two came from. I have shot hundreds of rounds of all 4 brands in G19 gen 4, CZ 75B and Springfield XDM, and all have performed well, no failures to feed or extract. The IWI and MEN were on the warm side of loads. The above were about 22 cents a round shipped. Nice brass, although I do not reload for pistol calibers, I have a friend that reloaded them with good results

I had some issues with old "FC" headstamp cases but not with ".FC." headstamp cases with dots.

I think all the ATK/Vista Outdoor brass like Speer, CCI, Blazer, Federal, .FC. cases are now made from the same plant/material. For me, Speer/CCI/Blazer/Federal/.FC. cases have been good to reload and seem to be better than older FC cases.
Brownells has MagTech on sale and I have coup for free ship and $20 off.
Magtech CBC (Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos) headstamp cases have been good for me.

We like Sellier & Bellot 115 grain FMJ. It's a little harder to find,
but in our opinion, well worth the wait, what with the cost being the
same.

Target Sports USA sometime has good deal and usually offers free shipping on case size orders.
Usually lots of flavors to chose from.

Shipping can get pricey on case size orders if you don't have a deal.
