After calling and e-mailing Ruger for almost a year they finally came out with longer barrels for the 8 shot 357 redhawk. Was told several times " At this point and time we have no plans to offer the Redhawk 8 shot with longer barrels". They came out and were selling like crazy. This is the 5.5 barrel. My first 8 shot group was 1 1/2 " at 25 yards from a rest. From the factory trigger pull was 13 lbs. double action 7 lbs single action . Disassemled the action , changed one spring and polished all the trigger parts using only a piece of granite and 1000 grit sandpaper. Double action dropped to 9 lbs , single action dropped to 4 lbs. Bought the extended firing pin just in case , but haven't had a misfire yet. It's heavy but recoil is very light with 357 loads. With 38 it's like shooting 22 rim fire. Nice adjustable sights . Cut for moonclips, comes with 3. Great gun , joy to shoot. I added the Eagle grips and modified to fit my hand. Watched Jerry Miculek ( the god of revolver shooting) video on revovler grip and he keep saying to grip as high as possible and that it would feel strange at first. It did . Quickly got used to it. God bless Bill Ruger .
