savage 111 rear sight ?

i have a 111 savage 300rum one of the early ones from 99 flat back with small shank and its missing the rear sight. i cant find much on them online they are plastic and like to get metal ones if possible. it dont make much sense to have sights on so much gun but i dont have the cash for a scope and i may down load it with a heavy bullet like 220 and up. to keep it from making a man sized hole in a deer id just like to shoot one with it for fun we get 4 doe tags each year.so if anyone know bout the sights it will help me it is a one screw rear sight fyi.
 
You could probably get a williams rear sight for it, not sure about the savage factory sights. You might actually end up spending less by grabing a cheap scope with rings attached, and bases off ebay than buying a rear sight tho. If all you want to do is shoot a deer, a used simmons, bushnell etc. should hold up well enough for that.
I just bought a 2-7x32 Prohunter for 11 bucks, and while its not a stellar scope ive had a few of them and so far none have failed.

i have luepold 2pc base hve to see if i got rings there maybe a lecheapo tasco scope somewhere here it is magna ported so recoil wont kill the scope. i would sell it but it is a good action if i ever need one and being small shank many barrel out there the mag is 3.680 if i remember right be funny to change the bolt head and follower and make it a very small cartridge,

I wasn't aware of the .300RUM in this configuration, but for a flat-bridge Savage, without drill/tapping the left side, I'd recommend a Williams Guide with a Twighlight aperture. No gunsmithing. Sight it in... set it and forget it.
