We hunted a place years ago........used Sawyers.
Topo map said " Tick Ridge". That was understatement of the century.
Neither my bud or I got bitten, but we took turns wiping them off each others backs while turkey hunting.
Hundreds per day. Hunted two days (did not sleep due to every hair on my arm moving made me think tick).
Never went back to that infested hell hole.
Hunt a more northern spot. Sawyers. Bud got a couple on his clothes, they were dying. No bites.
I have had maybe one, in 4 yrs of hunting down there. On my clothes, found in truck. No bites.
One of our buds got Lymes down there.
Dunno what repellents he used.
He got a tick bite on ear later......scared him.............but he was OK (Lymes took a yr or so to go away).
I used Deep Woods Off on my neck, face, hands. Sawyers on outer clothing.
Worked fine for the ticks. Skeeters was Thermacell.
That worked OK too.
But the gnats...........nothing works but some flowery scented stuff (Avon sells it I guess, Walmart did too).
Camo clothing, shotgun...........all hardcore turkey killin'.............smelling like a girl.
Too funny.
I didn't hunt in the wet areas so avoided the gnats................and having to smell like a girl LOL
