Jimmy, are you there? lolI had the exact same knife years ago. Bought it in Cherokee NC on vacation. I have no
clue where it is now, but I do recall the button wearing out from me playing with it. It got to be very dangerous as it wore, would pop open at random times. As a high school kid I couldn’t keep a pair of pants with good pockets, and a couple pair had bloodstains.
Now that I think of it I think that knife found its way into the gravel under a new concrete patio... along with a few others of questionable safety and even more questionable legal status at the time.
I keep those kind of knives in all of my vehicle consoles ... just in case.
just in case
That's a fair assessment. I guess I mean I would want a reliable knife that while dependable isn't going to "hurt" me if it broke or got lostSo I see the idea of "just in case" and "junk knives" combined by some here, but I don't know what the "just in case" a "junk knife" is for except as a fidget toy or a letter opener. We wouldn't throw a "junk jack" in the car for serious but infrequent use. We might not put an expensive one in the vehicle, but not one we already know might be unreliable or unsafe so why go with a junk knife we know we shouldn't depend on in a tight spot? Instead, there are plenty of inexpensive knives that can ride around unused until the need rears its head like a simple Mora that we know will be reliable and safe when we look for it in the trunk or tool box (and no one is even going to look at it twice as something to play with).
