The hide is like a giant rubber band when the bullet is trying to exit.I am always amazed when guys find the bullets just under the skin. Held up pretty good considering all the crap it went through lol. Your freezer is going to be full soon.
I've shot over 75 deer with rifles still have not recovered any bullets. Had some blow up but all passed through be cool be get one someday. The hide is like a giant rubber band when the bullet is trying to exit.
I've only had one exit that wasn't a neck shot. I shoot light for caliber bullets. I usually find a mangled chunk of lead. Nothing like Loonwolf's classic looking bullet.I've shot over 75 deer with rifles still have not recovered any bullets. Had some blow up but all passed through be cool be get one someday.
Well probably go out one more time at least, and I've got plenty of meat. So I can be picky, if I shoot another I'll try for a neck shot.I'd like to see a neck shot with the fusion. That is one heck of a spike lol. Seeing all this is making me hungry.
Looks like dropping a weight class may be for the best, tried wrecking a shoulder? Those fusions don't come apart for nothing, but they are not what I'd call dramatic by any means, on lighter game I'd guesstimate that very high speed impacts would be in your favor, we don't even try em on pronghorn out here, but the muleys provide slightly better results than you seem to be experiencing...... I'm think if I go for elk in the next couple years I'll give em another look.Well probably go out one more time at least, and I've got plenty of meat. I've clipped the scapula, but haven't hit it square. The one I pulled out actually looked a lot like I expect monometals to look.Looks like dropping a weight class may be for the best, tried wrecking a shoulder? That bullet might work well when you go cow hunting again.I've clipped the scapula, but haven't hit it square. The one I pulled out actually looked a lot like I expect monometals to look.
Internal damage has also been pretty similar. As long as you hit bones it should be fine.
It's plenty tough enough that's for sure lol. Unfortunately Im pretty sure the cow hunts are done. That bullet might work well when you go cow hunting again.
