I would be THRILLED to find one in .357.I was at a local shop yesterday and came across a decent Speed Six. Serial number range puts it in the 1981 build range. I'm taking it to the range today so hopefully I will have an update here soon as to how it shoots (maybe some more pics too)!

I may have it reamed out for .357 later, but I honestly don't shoot much of that these days.I would be THRILLED to find one in .357.
I have a Ruger Security Six in .357 and it has a 2.75" barrel and shoots better than I can.
Even with magnum loads.
Enjoy and shoot the heck out of that baby, and consider converting it to .357 or ??.
Good stumble! Were it mine I would look for a grip adapter (try BK Grips) and call it good.

Does the D adaptor from that site actually fit the Speed Six?Good stumble! Were it mine I would look for a grip adapter (try BK Grips) and call it good.

The only thing I can't figure out about used Speed-Sixes is why anyone would sell one! I found two, both 3-inchers and both .38 Special, and both reamed out to take .357. Because they were reamed out, they both became very accurate in the process. I can drop .357 jhp bullets in the chamber and they catch in each chamber. It's not uncommon for one or two to drop out, which is no huge deal, but it's a nice touch.
I've been thinking of having one of them nickel plated.

Nothing to fear. That's a very unlikely plan due to the cost.NOooo --- You were fortunate enough to find a snub nose .38!!!
Extreme case of IF IT AIN'T BROKE . . .
I completely forgot about those details! It is a .38 Special only gun with a ~2.5 inch barrel (I need to measure it). Someone worked on the trigger because it is possibly the best I have ever seen on a revolver in both double and single action.
