I've been thinking about sights while waiting for the checkering.
I'm not going to scope this rifle but I'm clearly having the onset of presbyopia, guess it happens to us all eventually, so I thought that a peep sight might be a good idea.
I've shot a lot of air rifles with peep sights, and they increase the focal length which would be beneficial to the eyes.
I'd really like the bolt mounted Rigby style sights, and they are pure awsomeness.
They are also quite expensive and I've just about thrown as much monies as can almost be explained to SWHBO on the rifle so another $300 for the sight + $200 for installation and then $100 for finishing and whatnots is right out.
But what they really are, are a fancier stem peep sight with the ability to be zeroed for several preset distances.
Something a like Lyman #2 could easily be adapted to sit on the cocking piece and since I hunt in close woodland a zero at 100m would cover every shot I can make.
You don't happen to have something similar in a parts box somewhere to experiment with?
Looks are totally unimportant as long as isn't bent or something.
