Hey all. I was perusing some knife vendor websites and I came across Heretic knives. From all outward appearances they seem to use good materials and look very functional. However, reviews are a little sparse.

Just curious if anyone ones Heretic knives, and what you think of them.

They are pricey, and I don't necessarily ever see owning one. But you never know.

Ouch is price of quality, well made knives.
Small batch, USA, knives, that are essentially custom knives are too expensive for me!
 
I'll be honest, now that I actually own a knife with a bit better build quality and nicer steel than I was accustomed to, I find I am curious about even higher quality knives. I use a knife almost every day for one thing or another, and when you have a nicely engineered piece that suits you, it really is a pleasure to put it to work. It's similar to finding a gun that you just shoot and handle very well.

This could become an addiction. At least they are useable items, and not just stuff that's going to sit in a dresser drawer.
 
Priced in the $2-300s is not horrible, a lot goes into a quality knife. My brother lives in Europe and can't /won't have guns, he gets his fix from very high priced knives instead . his taste is, not my own. He bought a grimsmo norseman a few months back for $1100 (hideous knife I wouldn't buy for $200) then had to take it to a local jewler to make a closed latch so the knife can't be opened one handed (another few hundred $ I'm sure) and when I asked him how he liked it he said he wasn't sure...

Ok, serious question though. I have 4 carry guns. I find that every time I buy a new carry gun that suits me a bit better, the old ones get carried very infrequently. I still carry them now and then, but not much.

Is it the same way for y’all with knives, or do you find yourselves switching it up. Just wondering.

I personally have multiple knives I carry, depending on the activities of the day. A Blur most of the time, a rainbow Leek when dressing up, a KISS for when it needs to be low key, and a ZT 301 when I'm feeling the need for something more aggressive.
 
I like assisted opening knives.I prefer lock back to liner lock. I find 3 to 4 inch blades fit my needs.
That said my collection has all kinds an types.
 
I carry a generous sized folder daily (an old Benchmade Ascent - full sized model) and use it both for work, daily needs around the house - and it's what I'll be using the day I can't get to a firearm... I wouldn't even consider carrying a variety of blades - I just want one that's so instinctive that I can open one handed in any situation. I do have back-ups in strategic locations (from old very well used fixed blades to two brand new items - ready to go) but when I need a cutter (I work on a small skiff and just might need to be able to get free of entangling lines or end up drowning...) it's got to be something familiar - so familiar you won't even think about its use until the job is done in an emergency....

Then again - that's just me.
 
I carry the discontinued Victorinox Master Craftsman every day. M-Th I carry a Gent that I removed the scales from. F-Su I may carry a Sebenza or if I'm going to have to go be wanded for a venue I'll carry something else.

The consistency philosophy is not unlike some people's attitudes about carry guns, and I can certainly see the benefit there.
 
I pulled out some old junkers from my young days. They are liner locks, and seem really flimsy compare to modern frame locks.

I don’t think they are anything but cardboard cutters at this point.
