We need to write and post to Kroger about a new restrictive policy about firearms depicted on magazine covers and politely point out that while they may have customers who may complain about firearms images on the cover of magazines they have far more that aren't bothered or who actually look for these magazines to buy because of the picture of an AR. Kroger has other solutions as they've always had with periodicals if people don't want to see the cheesecake photos of men or women on covers and we should encourage them to make the effort to be inclusive. Lets ignore the errors in their descriptions in our response, and here, lest we become wonky and nit picky and ruin the message we want to deliver.
Be polite.
Don't make threats, but do tell them you're distributing their letter and the graphic with an explanation that Kroger is trying to interfere with what publications put on their covers without making any effort they've made in the past to manage access to the magazines.
Use the graphic in your letters.
Kroger's new "editorial" policy change towards magazines is fundamentally wrong by not being inclusive of all their customers. Banning publications because of those triggered by firearms images is unfair to the customers who are in the great majority who have no problem with firearms on covers. Where Kroger serves communities that may not want to see these covers displayed Kroger has other less radical ways to provide placement instead of banning images on magazines. Would Kroger ban images of members of minorities or nationalities because might be prejudiced against them? Please reconsider and discard this irrational policy.

BTW, if you intend to not do business with Kroger over this make it clear that you say it in a civil manner. It does no good to just stop doing business with Kroger, WalMart, etc. if you don't tell them you're going to do it since it takes MONTHS after they've established an Anti policy to see any bottom line impacts due to offending customers, e.g.
I have alternatives to doing business with Kroger that have not taken this editorial policy and intend to take my family shopping to ABC if it is not reversed. I will encourage my friends and family to do so as well if Kroger decides to send the message that it is not interested in providing to all their customer interests across the country.
