We have won the battle with Kroger.

As many will remember we had a problem with the Kroger chain concerning the issue of carrying handguns. We have not gotten word that Kroger will obey STATE Law in all the states now and allow carry where it is legal .

Thanks for sharing your concern as it relates to this issue. I have been advised our company will follow state laws regarding the Conceal Carry Policy as you know this law may vary depending on state.
We currently do not post no weapons signs in our stores.

As always contact me if you have any additional questions or concerns.

We should be gracious in our victory. If you contacted them I ask you do so again to thank them for the policy change ,obeying state law and let them know as a reward we will again do business with them.

Very good news for y'all that have had issues with them.
The Fred Meyer Stores out here in Idaho never had any issues with open carry.
A freind of mine talked to the manager here right after the initial post was made. The manager said that they honor state law, and there was no issue with open carry in their stores here.
The manager also told my friend that whenever a customer brings an open carry concern to any of the staff here the manager of the day goes down and talks to the person that raised the concern.
He quietly explains the law and explains the person carrying is within their rights to carry openly and protect themselves, and that there's nothing to be concerned about.
If it remains an issue the manager takes whatever steps are needed to reassure them there's nothing to worry about and please carry on with their shopping.
Normally they don't approach the person carrying at all.

The Email I was sent went so far to state that open carry is usual in Alaska, some parts of Washington and most of Idaho in Fred Meyers stores.

They comply with the local law...

Good news. I wonder if they'll allow me to Open Carry without any issues here in Michigan. I'll find out soon as I'm switching to open carry just as soon as my new Alessi Holster comes in.

I'm a big fan of Kroger because they have a GREAT organic food department. They even have all natural Buffalo meat, which isn't easy to find at traditional grocery stores.

If I don't go to Kroger the only place left is Whole Foods and the will commit Seppuku before allowing guns in their stores...concealed or otherwise.

To "The Expert",
Yes they'll allow open carry in your Kroger stores there. They'll be abiding with the law, and Michigan allows open carry, thank goodness.

Regards, Gearchecker

Gosh . . . I've NEVER had a problem for years in my local Kroger carrying concealed.

Then again . . . it IS concealed!;)
