Considering tritium has a half-life of 12 years (so after 12 years itsthalf as bright as new) in 12 years you could save up for a whole new optic before your tritium became unusable. I can’t think of a whole lot of other products that last that long.
That’s probably part of the reason they don’t replace them. Why waste inventory and payroll on legacy products? Also tritium tubes are controlled pretty tightly.
You’re right. I should have specified what category of products I meant. I can’t think of a whole lot of products in the illumination category that last much longer than 12 years, let alone 24. But maybe all my stuff is cheap.It's interesting that you post this on a gun forum.
I've got lots of things that are 12+ years old and still work just fine.
