I called a couple of times, but I think they're on a shortened work schedule right now.

Does anyone know if I can still send in my old Meprolight sights to have the Tritium ampules replaced? There's nothing about that on their website.

Just in case someone else is looking for the same information: Neither Trijicon, Tooltech, or Meprolight offer Tritium replacement service any more. I called all of them.

Kind of a bummer in that regard. Makes me not want those night sights at all anymore.

They generally dim with time but it takes a good long time for them to completely disappear in the dark.

I wonder if this means they wont do it for the ACOGs, RMRs, or any other product they sell? That would make me turn my back on them altogether.

Considering tritium has a half-life of 12 years (so after 12 years itsthalf as bright as new) in 12 years you could save up for a whole new optic before your tritium became unusable. I can’t think of a whole lot of other products that last that long.

That’s probably part of the reason they don’t replace them. Why waste inventory and payroll on legacy products? Also tritium tubes are controlled pretty tightly.

Trijicon used to advertise they would replace the tritium for free. If you bought their sights when that warranty was in effect, you should be able to hold them to that.

It's interesting that you post this on a gun forum.

I've got lots of things that are 12+ years old and still work just fine.

You’re right. I should have specified what category of products I meant. I can’t think of a whole lot of products in the illumination category that last much longer than 12 years, let alone 24. But maybe all my stuff is cheap.
That said, where I live 10 years is basically the cut off for used cars, and most appliances I’ve ever had have lasted me less than 10. So for me the example still stays mostly true.

Which is all besides the point that 12-24 years should be plenty of time to save up for another optic with fresh tritium.

Good to know that replacement of the lamps (recondition) is not an option.
I've got night sights that are 10+ years old and are still usable, so the cost over time is about > $1 month.
