Sst ammo? The rifle used was a CZ 527 carbine, 762x39, topped with a Leupold FX II ultralight 2.5x20 in Warne QD rings.
No. Cheap Silver Bear 123gr HP. We got quarantined as a household on the 26th. Couldn't go to town and not enough time to order. Went with what had.Sst ammo?
The hole was explosive enough for the sst is the only reason I asked, wouldn't complain about silver bear from the looks of it lol!No. Cheap Silver Bear 123gr HP. We got quarantined as a household on the 26th. Couldn't go to town and not enough time to order. Went with what had.
Quick run down- We planted new food plots and built new stands, got quarantined for 24 days, rained for 4 days. Neighbors got rained out of their fields until opening morning. Farm equipment and grain trucks all day long. Call up my buddy, he says take him to my spot this afternoon. 5 doe, 2 fawn and a tall 7pt come in on us from the southeast. My son doesn't care about the buck, just wanted meat. Took a quartering shot about 50yds. 30 minutes of light left, we follow blood, lots of blood, into the night. Call it a night, come back the next morning. My buddy calls, found her about 40 yards from where we stopped looking the night before. We gave him both back straps for saving the season for my son.The hole was explosive enough for the sst is the only reason I asked, wouldn't complain about silver bear from the looks of it lol!

I'd personally not mind reading the long winded backstory to this hunt as well......
I was worried he either gut shot her. Tons of blood, no bubbles. We obviously were pushing her, if we'd gave her more time she'd laid there and bled out. And yep, that's a catahoula, Snickers.Looks like the bullet already expanded when it hit the doe.
Good for your son!
Is that a Catahoula in the background?
