Local gun store is even raising their prices beyond conceivable prices.

I pay about $35ish locally a box. I only buy a box or two at a time so the sting isnt as bad. I dont really shoot it. I'll just shoot my .22 and a grab a box of 9mm and .40 to add my stash since im a new gun owner. I get excited when I see Federal has it available directly from time to time. Just sucks its a 2 box limit, then shipping and tax almost the same as a box.

I'll give it about 3 more months and then you can buy a slingshot on Gunbroker for about $650. :)
Cheer up- Midsouth has Unique and Red dot powder at reasonable prices and a few other powders. Blue Collar has bullets now and I bought some.from both.

Primers are the real bad situation. A local remanufacturing outfit is giving $100 off your order of 1K rounds of 9mm if you bring in 1000 pistol primers for them to use.

A guy on Armslist here is trying to sell small pistol primers for $1000 for 5000...

$550 for 8lb of IMR4350.... and that was a no reserve auction on gb with multiple bids....

$199 for a brick of 22lr. What started as a mom and pop shop is now 5-6 stores and they claim the prices are high due to the supplier but they are selling 20rd self defense ammo at normal price.

Here ya go! And best of all, they’re in stock!:)
I’d get five, you only live once...;)

(I guess I should say, for those that don’t want to take a strange link, they are thirty five dollars. Each!:what:)

I remember the machine gun shoots we would have back in the mid 1980's in Boise, Idaho area.

We had a guy show up (don't remember where he was from) who had a Lahti you could shoot. He sold rounds for $5.00 as I recall. I thought that was too much money so didn't participate.
Well real reason I was left handed and sights were off-set on left side. Did not work at all for me. Sure was fun watching guys shoot it thou. They were shooting back behind the private range into the hillside South of Emmett, Idaho. Probably at least 700 yards. Very impressive. My high school buddy shot it and bought an extra round for his bullet collection. He will get a kick when I tell what his round is worth now. If I remember correctly the rounds came individually sealed in a cardboard tube.
Thanks for the memories.

Just traded some ammo for ammo with my brother in law's father. An oldie, but a goodie. For rainy days to come.
Its been a long time since I have seen Norinco 9mm ammo.

I'm baffled that anyone would pay those incredibly inflated prices for ammo. Anyone who can afford $800/case of 9mm should have filled their entire garage when it was $180/case. It's those of us at the bottom of the totem pole that often wind up short. I've got a pretty decent stock of the stuff I shoot but if you added a zero to the end of my paychecks my stockpile would be a lot deeper. Over the years I've always tried to squirrel away a few extra boxes here and there when I had extra money but I live in a pretty expensive place. There's never as much mad money left at the end of the month as I'd like.

30-30 winchester.......$5 per round AKA $100 for a box of 20 lol, Never seen it this bad, never seen so many calibers affected during a crisis, not after any election, not after any shooting, not during any recession.

I never thought I would see .30-30 Win more expensive than 7.62x54r

Or .30-378 Wthrby Mag !

2 years ago I came up with a box of of 20 .30-378 Wthrby Mag brass. New brass. I sold the box for $40, or $2/pc, and the buyer was thrilled to get it. I thought that price was crazy.

Now it's $5/rd for .30-30 ammo ?

I'm getting a bit uneasy here...

Bi-Mart was good to me this morning. Winchester Silvertip hollowpoints, 20 round boxes for $12.
Feels like pre-covid prices all over again...

.

7.62X54R is expensive now? Not too long ago, when I had my C&R license, I bought about 900-something rounds of the stuff for 60 bucks. I figured I might as well buy some, since I also bought a mint 91/30--also for about $60. 5 bucks a bang for 30-30 would make starting to handload a no-brainer.

If SP primers are indeed retailing for $700 in a year or so, I may consider selling a few thousand.

I feel dumb guessing this...but if they really hit that much, someone would probably just be better off buying factory ammo. It will probably be high(er) come this time next year...but not $.70/rd high for pistol ammo. Heck, you can get 9mm for around $700/case at the moment, and that's reflecting insane prices.

I’d like to see the stats on how many new 22 owners there are. I bought a TX22 a couple of months ago and have done nothing but shoot the snot out of it, all the while adding the odd box or two of rainy day 9mm to my cache.

I've bought so many. 22lr firearms including a TX22. I jump at the chance when I come across bulk ammo that's under 10 cents a round
