Thanks for all the suggestions. There are some great scenes! Which one is your favorite? Do you have others to recommend?

The 1955 movie that supposedly got switchblades banned in the US, "Blackboard Jungle". With a young Vic Morrow, Glenn Ford, and Sidney Portier.

Before that I remember them being sold in candy stores in NYC, a dozen on a cardboard display.

And who could forget James Colburn in "The Magnificent Seven"?

Or the movie that copied, "Seven Samurai", with sword work by Toshiro Mifune?

The duel, again with Toshiro Mifune in "Sanjuro"

Looked like some Randall's there, wonder how long they had to wait to get them? lol

I see on Randall's site the current wait time is 6 years!

The end fight in the Revanent was brutal

The John Wick series has some good knife fights and even a sword fight

The fight in Young Guns 2 between Lou Diamond Phillips and Christian Slater was cool.

And while not a knife fight per se, the 2004 Alamo movie where Jim Bowie is being bayonetted by Mexicans while reaching for his legendary blade is somber

Rebel Without a Cause (also 1955) -- the first and last clip in my montage, also shares credit for the 1958 law. I will try to find a clip to add...Thank you.

Yeah, 6 years! Amazing! I was thinking about putting down the required $50.00 down payment and then just forgetting about it, until the bill comes due. As it is now, they can always be sold for more.

I kind of skipped through the video, so I might have skipped over it if one of the scenes was from the movie "Braveheart." Some of the scenes demonstrating "blades at work" in that movie were quite intense, and bloody.
Another "blade at work" scene that I like a lot is right at the end of the movie "Legends of the Fall." As the movie comes to a close, Tristan (Brad Pitt) is shown from a distance trying to use a knife to fend off his lifelong enemy - a giant grizzly. "He died a good death" the narrator says.:)

I really appreciate all the suggestions. Some really great scenes. Here's the final product I think the montage came out nice. What's your favorite clip?

Gangs of New York has some good ones.
I like the one where Bill the Butcher taps his glass eye with his knife

Dan

My favorite knife scene is when Alton Brown harvested wild mushrooms with a Spyderco police model.

Andrew Zimmern is seen using his pocket knives often enough that people ask about what he carries. His favorite is a hand made Sardinian folder made for him using the horn of a ram he killed and butchered on the show. I have a folder from a Spanish family owned/operated cutlery company that resembles it quite a lot.

Both Alton and Anthony are firearms enthusiasts. Anthony also uses something with orange scales that match his glasses. Anyone know what that is?

Alton went on a motorcycle road trip and stopped to eat some local sausage which he carved up with a black bladed 'tactical' folder and said - kids, don't try this at home.
