IWB holsters for dummies

I was looking at the supertuck and that made the short list but it just looked so huge and wouldn't take a red dot on the pistol.
Go to the SupeTuck order page and you can select an option for optics, with or without tall sights. They do show Ruger Max 9 as available.
Also, any hybrid will look large to you, compared to simpler single or double clip kydex holders. The added width of the leather back does add to the comfort when wearing.
[dang auto-corrupt keeps changing kydex to index!]

JTO, Again. Same problem. Nothing for the Max 9. I need something better than the Uncle Mikes nylon IWB. I suspecting I'm going to have to stick with the slim tuck until more become available.

Nice rig but nothing for the Max 9 yet. That's a major problem I'm having.
Yeah, sorry about that.

I was answering in the generic regarding holsters for red dot sights and suppressor height sights, and forgot we were searching for a Max9 holster.

For what little it's worth a quick review on the DeSantis slim tuck. Over all pretty good. Comfortable even with "Love Handles". Good adjustable retention. Easy draw. My big complain is that when I adjusted the clip to be canted forward as I like the it the clip got in the way of getting a good grip on the pistol. I found I was only able to get my bottom 3 fingers on it to draw. I didn't have any problems getting it out but I would prefer more than 3 fingers. With the clip straight up and down there was no problem at all with grip or draw and it was still quick. That's about it for now. On to the search for a replacement.

Uzimon. I'm ALWAYS feeling flamboyant. I get a lot of smiles and compliments on my shirts and it if makes people smile and makes their day a bit brighter then I have done some good. I did check out the Magellan shirts. They do look quite comfortable and a good size. I might have to get one or two for when the Hawaiians aren't appropriate.

Perhaps this is a typo, but how many fingers do you have on your hand?

Thumb would be on one side, index finger out straight registered on the frame/slide depending on your technique, and three fingers around the grip. Do you have more fingers than that?

OOPS! That should teach me to proof read better. Second finger couldn't get a grip. Still the same problem.

I bought an OWB holster for my new Max-9 (with optic) from Simply Rugged holsters. I also bought a shell for my Alien Gear IWB holster system. Both fit incredibly well. While both of these seem to work well, I'm sure there are many other choices too.

In the winter I carry in a 5.11 vest. It's comfortable for me. For summer, I bought an Outbags leather holster (M&P Compact 1.0), and for me, it works great. It only uses the friction in the holster - no clips. It is a leather holster, and as such, may not be what you prefer. I like it because I love the look and feel of a leather holster. I do NOT recommend "generic" holsters. Get one that is made for your firearm and, if necessary, "train" your holster according to the manufacturer's directions (often leather holsters require this).
