Good on ya for doing this!

Now on a selfish note: If you have any 32 S&W brass you want to get rid of (sell, trade, etc) let me know. Been hard to find and I have a 32 Breaktop I have not been able to shoot yet.

Sorry no brass. We got brass for my sister by buying loaded Privi .32 S+W ammo from Target Sports USA (none in stock at the moment)
When I looked the loaded ammo was only a couple $ more for 50 than empty brass.

Well, everyone, Dudedog is the bomb! Despite the best efforts of the post office to lose the package (the package made it to my post office and was initially rejected due to lack of sufficient address...the post office placed it on a truck for 66502 instead of my zip, 66503 despite the correct address on the package)), it was delivered on Friday and I promptly unpacked it and then left for two days. Returning yesterday, I thought I'd fulfill my promise and post the evidence of Dudedog's philanthropy and generosity, as well as my first loads with them.

The package contained more than just the dies and promised 32S&W projectiles! Dudedog included the stray 9 mm's, some Rocky Mountain 124 grain 9 mm's, and then filled the box to the brim with assorted 9mm casings! The contents are below; I'm sorry, in my excitement, I cut off the bottom of the dies on the photo.

Last night, I loaded up 10 of the 32S&W to get the dies set and to try this weekend. I load small numbers of cartridges on a Lee Breech-Lock, so I set the dies in their quick-change bushings and went for it. Load for these was 2.7 grains of W231 in once-fired PPU brass at an OAL of 1.160 (data source Hodgdon 2021 Annual). The bullets are 80 grain. I thought the mild crimp was about right.

Anyway, there you have it. Thank you, Dudedog! I'll see they get used :)

you're a good man, thanks for the contest.

Your welcome, hope everybody had fun with it.

Your welcome, Nice looking ammo there. Hope they shoot well for you.
I was surprised that when I called the Post Office they got the mess straightened out.
I figured the package would come all the way back to me then I would have to send it back again....

Cool!

What velocity do you expect?

I have several boxes of .32 s&w. I fired some before I began reloading and didnt keep casings. I have an LCR .327. Not sure if I should shoot and reload the Shorts or just sell the ammo.

It would be cool if they could be loaded up to about 650 fps to at least mimic .32 S&W Long but...that might be asking too much of the ol'.32 S&W.

Expect right around 810-850 from the Hodgson datA. That load would be 810 with an 85 grain, prob a little faster with the 80 grain.

I found a site that had some data for S&W “short”. 1,3 grains of Bullseye with an 85 grain bullet should be 670 fps. 1.4 grains Win231 was 610 in that reference.
