Doing a bullpup thing with my 10/22. Now thinking maybe pick up a cheap pump 12GA & doing the same.

Waste of time and money? What kits & cheap shotguns should I be looking at?
 
For the cost of a Bullpup Unlimited stock kit, you can get one of the Turkish 12ga. bullpups. I picked up an Eternal BP-12 for $301 including FFL fees. I need to take it out to the range to truly see if it was worth the money, but out of the box it looks decent enough. Everything I have read say they run well enough on hi-brass shell, so I'm hopeful.

If I see one next time I am at the local shops, I might grab it, but I really want the new S&W 12ga bullpup. I am not going to drop the $1k on it, though LOL
 
I got a External Arms BP-12 for $271 shipped (including sales tax) from Mr. Gun. I already have a Keltec KS-7, so I got the pump bullpup covered. I do like the S&W, but it looks like a bunch of cash for a similar gun to what I already have. In fact, I have way too many shotguns, so I really shouldn't even have gotten the Keltec or Enternal bullpup. But I love shotguns and think they are one of the best buys in guns.

I have the SDS Imports (Armalegant) BLP M12TP semi-auto, took it out to the range a couple of weeks ago and it fired 2 3/4" shells, bird shot and 00 buck without a hiccup. Cost me $330 with the shipping and transfer fee.
 
The Bullpup Unlimited kit can convert a Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 series to a bullpup without altering the gun, so it can be returned to standard configuration at will.

The up side is you get the reliability and strength of the standard gun without the complications of the odd-ball double magazine systems of many bullpup shotguns.

Accessories like magazine extensions work.

If you already own a compatible shotgun, you can get into a bullpup cheap.

The down sides.......
Like almost all bullpups other then the Kel-Tec's, the extended linkage trigger is wonky and the trigger is not very good. This has always been the failing of bullpup guns until Kel-Tec solved it with their KSG and the KS7.

The gun is not as smoothly operating as a Kel-Tec, or as smooth as the unmodified gun.

To deep clean the gun you have to totally remove it from the stock/cover by removing all the screws. Since the mounting nuts are brass and molded into the plastic, if you damage one it's going to be a problem.

Unlike guns like the Kel-Tec, it's right hand ONLY.

Unless you own a gun now that can be converted, I'd go with the far superior Kel-Tec KS7.
It appears to be the best bullpup pump shotgun on the market.

Yup, my KS7 is my favorite however I still like my SDS semi-auto but like you said, that SDS field strip is much more work.
