Nature calls or other events cause you to have to handle your gun while in public and sometimes things get misplaced or forgotten. Please help out here with tips and experiences you might have had. I'll start:

The Royal Throne And The Gun

speakin here just about civilian IWB or OWB right side carry: (rorrim ot siht dloh--sytfel)
as soon as you unbuckle, grasp the right side of the pants above the zipper with you left hand--you are holding up the heavy gun side of your pants now with your left hand
now put your right hand on the gun (in the holster) and your left hand back on the left side--as you are lowering your pants and underhosen with them--twist the pants such that the gun is now at 12 o'clock (in front of your belly button), and as you are bending your knees and droppin your draws-- fold the gun to the center of that pocket that forms between your knees. now, as you are sitting on the throne, no one can see your piece (sorry about that, chief) and should the need arise, you have access to it.

happy flushes

I do not leave my domicile without that comforting weight on my right hip. Having said that I DURN SURE won't be leaving the mens room without it!!!

+1 oneshooter. but there seems to be no dearth of people who litter the place with detritus as they go through their day.
thank you 3KB for pointing out that my thought(lesness) had left out 1/2 the population

Thanks Claude, great tip and I like the mirror writing! I'm going to have to try this as I wear my holster back quite a ways and I don't know if it can be pulled that far forward...

A good way not to forget things is to put your car keys with them. You won't get too far.

I unholster and drop the piece in my skivies. Gonna be tough to leave the room without it that way...

From having to go in the great outdoors I've learned to take a "wide stance" to keep from peeing on my shoes or falling over backwards (us girls learn that stuff quick). The same technique works to keep your holster off the floor. Careful in airport bathrooms, though.

Mr. Clay - You make some good points and I'll probably try that method in the future.

I always remove my pistol (still in the holster) and place it in the "pocket" that forms in the crotch as I sit down. It's certainly not much trouble.

We just had a sheriff's deputy leave his loaded weapon in a local restaraunt bathroom & it caused quite a hullabaloo in the local rag for two weeks. Slightly over-blown but it was a rather careless thing to do.

Either your method or mine would make it impossible for that to ever happen.

As a piper, I usually have whiskey in me eye, love in me heart, fire in me belly, and a pistol in me sporran.:p

Actually, when I'm not piping, I usually wear Wranglers (Levis are anti-gun) and cowboy boots. The gun goes in the boot top when I'm on the throne.

The times I've had to take a seat away from home, I just unholster it and set it on the TP roll. Haven't forgotten it yet. I'll have to try some of the other suggestions.
But usually I really try to not have to sit when in public. My throne has never seen anyone's cheeks but my own, and I like that kind of personal service, rather than those public ones that have to deal with hundreds of ***holes a day. :neener:

Levis are anti gun? How? Do they not allow guns in the pants they sell?

Levis are anti gun? How?

The parent company supports laws that would disarm you. Spend your clothing money accordingly. I haven't bought Levi's ever since I discovered this bit gun hating truth.

Back on topic....

Pocket carry limits your firepower, but you never have to worry about being "made"...on the throne or walking about.

The only time I've forgotten mine was when I set it on the bumper of my pickup and drove off. When I remembered it, she was still there, on the bumper. She's a good girl!

If you need help or special "tricks of the trade" to remember your gun before exiting the throne room, perhaps you should look more closely at not being a candidate for concealed carry.

Sheesh :what:
