it might as well be in front of the GUN SHOP! Sheeeeze! I switched my carry to left side crossdraw to accomodate shirt out of pants carry. Switched about a week ago.

Yesterday went to the gun shop and getting out of car gave just enough flex to flip over the pants and belt and turn the IWB holster over and dump the gun on the sidewalk.

Just loads of fun.

No damage to gun. Maybe some damage to psyche of customer LEAVING just as I was standing up outside of car while gun was clattering across the CONCRETE exposed aggregate. Wheeee!

Grab gun......stick hurriedly in pocket with knife and change and stuff while yanking holster out of a twisted position and muttering various oaths.

Now back to right side carry.

EMBARASSING to say the least. (whaddya say to a guy who has just witnessed you flinging a gun on the sidewalk?)

:banghead:

Call Lou Alessi and order yourself a holster that won't let your firearm fall out! Retention is important! Then you'll be able to carry in whatever position you like. :)

Yeah, I'd have to say ditch that holster too. I don't own a holster that I cannot turn upside down and shake like hell that results in the gun falling out.

I did that once at the mall, dropped my Glock muzzle down right onto the parking lot. It was at night and nobody saw. Shifted the rear sight over but otherwise didnt even scratch it.

It was the middle of winter and i was wearing gloves, ment to put it in my IWB holster, but I missed it completely

There are many fine holsters including Alessi & Milt Sparks (usually in stock at Brownell's), but if the incident occured as you said, I think you need an appropriate belt which won't twist as yours did. that's easy (and CHEAP) to remedy: Dillon.
I have worn there belts (one black 1.25", one brown 1.25") every day for the past 5 years, and finally one is needing replacement. While Alessi and Sparks make fine belts,
they are about twice as expensive as Dillons.

FWIW, I went thru about 12 holsters before I found that you really do get what you pay for. I would not consider an inexpensive holster for my CCW purposes.

My carry gun fell out of a Coronado Leather vest some weeks ago in a hardware store parking lot. I was glad the stocks weren't expensive, because they ended up with minor scratches. I was the only person who saw what happened.

Gotta agree with get a proper holster. However, why worry about somebody seeing you carry piece.(I've seen a few postings about a legally carried firearm being seen) Who cares? You're either legally doing so or you aren't. Excrement happens.

DING! DING!

I agree. You never know what sort of weird calisthetics you might have to do in an instant, either to save your life, the life of another, or, more likely, in the course of mundane activities that get you through the day. You want your gun to stay put during them.

Sunray - if your gun is seen, it is no longer concealed. If it is no longer concealed, you are in violation of the law in many states. That's why it's a big deal.
