Is Grapevine Mills Mall in TX 30.06?

Used to be posted no concealed carry. Haven't been there in years.

Yes. The bastards even post the parking lot in some areas. Though probably not legal completely since they don't get 100% of the entrances, I won't go there.

Not a chance I'd spend a dime there and they are a well known anti company.

Has nothing to do with alcohol. Private property owners can post signs if they want to.

Grapevine Mills is owned by a large corporation with malls all over the US.

They post them all with anti gun signs, across the board.

We've tried email and phone call campaigns in the past and they basically said "tough".

Took a 1/4 mile walk back to the truck when I saw the sign. Haven't been back

Isn't that where Bass Pro Shops have a gun range?? It has been years since I was there, but I remember I took my CCW in and shot a few boxes of ammo.

BPS is just south of the mall, and is not connected with it in any way.

Better yet, just don't go. And let the merchants know why you are spending your money elsewhere.

And yes, Bass Pro Shop is across the street, different game altogether.

This is how things get changed. Money talks, but only if you let them know why you are shopping elsewhere.

Irony of ironies. The "you can't carry" here ordnance is "30.06"? Sounds like the alderman/local politicians/whatever are kicking you Texans right in the nuts.

I have to say the gun laws in Tx are pretty good (especially recently). One funny thing is that in Conn. you didn't have this crazy postings about no carry by CHL holders all over businesses etc. I guess the avg. NE liberal was so clueless that they didn't know that people were carrying legally with CHL.
I can't carry to work as I work in a Hospital here in Tx. In Conn. I could have entered the hospital with the gun.
I will still take Tx over Conn. every day and twice on sunday.

That's a tough argument, I can see both sides and have a hard time choosing one.

On the one hand, private property owners should have the right to control their own property. The 30.06 signs can't be used on government owned buildings, just private property.

Then there is the other argument that says carrying a gun is a "civil right" and private property owners can't violate civil rights like keeping one race out of the bathrooms etc.

So recognizing private property rights is hardly a kick in the nuts. It's a much more complicated debate of private property rights vs civil rights.

Naw - they have the right to not want properly vetted, background checked, fingerprinted, licensed, legal handgun owners, from having a concealed handgun on their premises if they want -- and I have the right to spend my money elsewhere...

Besides, there is nothing in Grapevine Mills Mall that even slightly resembles a bargain - shop elsewhere, be happy and be safe.

I went there once when they first opened. I've never been back. Has nothing to do with the posting, I just never found any reason to go back there.

However, now that I know of the posting, I will continue to stay away.

The property owners who post really aren't using a property rights argument. They are just liability prostitutes who have some legal opinion that a legal gun owner might cause them a buck if something goes awry with said CHL.

Thus, I don't respect that they are upholding property rights.

It sounds as if Texas is one of those places where a private property owner can post a compliant sign and tell you no CCW. That blows, but it is somewhat ironic that the statue is 30.06. What's next? The anti-sodomy laws are Texas Revised Statue 69.69?

Malls can be tricky. At the main entrance to my local mall there is a "no guns" sign, but if you enter it through any of the anchor stores there are no signs.
