About a month ago, we were at a friend's farm doing some plinking. I decided we HAD to stay near dusk so that I could show off my 12ga SBS double barrel "pistol" firing at night with blackpowder loads. The videos are quite telling! :D

Enjoy. :)

Slick. I love your projects. What was the host gun, a Stevens 311? Once I get situated in one state, I'll kick off my Form 1/4 extravaganza. :D

Very nice! What's the recoil like?

Every time I see one of those I think of Sean Connery in The Untouchables when the BG breaks into his house and he drives him out while ranting about bringing a knife to a gun fight :D

I meant is there any other handgun caliber it's comparable to.
Couldn't tell if you were holding it one handed or two handed in the first vid or how well you control recoil in general. I shot a PGO 12" 870 once and with regular loads it wasn't bad, 3" slugs weren't pleasant.

I can't comment on PTK's specific gun, but a Serbu Super Shorty at least, with a Pachmayr Presentation grip (a big, soft, rubber, revolver style grip), kicks about like a hot .44 mag with target loads or reduced recoil, like a .454 Casull with 2-3/4" regular slugs (which chrono at 1100-1150 fps), and pretty similarly to a .500 S&W mag with heavy weight (more than 1 ounce) 3" magnums, like 15 pellet 00.

All in all, no more recoil than other contemporary "hand cannons." More fun to shoot though. :)

But a good pistol grip is absolutely necessary if you want to fire the full power stuff, especially for a double. I'd hate to get a tang release shoved into the web of my hand!

I've actually found that the wooden sloped grip is SIGNIFICANTLY more comfortable than a higher angle pistol grip. For what it's worth, anyway. :)
