Looking for a .45 ACP Pocket Rocket.

Don't own one but you might consider the S&W Chief Special .45acp.

I have the SA Micro and love it. Kinda scary looking from the front perspective to a bg and more accurate than I had expected it to be.

Anything other than AMT !

The Ultimate would be an old Detonics Mark VII without sights . That Springfield Micro Gi is very nice....Russ

Although not a pocket pistol as such, I really love my Glock 36. It's a real shooter.

This S&W 945 compact with 3 1/4 inch barrel seems like the ultimate small .45

They are rare and pretty expensive, but look very nice

Gen3 Taurus Mil Pro PT145 (no PRO next to MILLENNIUM) with DA/SA trigger has shorter slide length than Glock 26 and grip length comparable to Glock 19. It's been reliable feeding SWC like RN.

Colt New Agent , Colt Defender, My old 80 Detonics works in pocket but might on heavy side .

+1 on the PT145 unless you have the extra $$ for the Kahr. For the price, the PT145 is very accurate and reliable. The Gen 3 is the one to get as all the kinks seem to be worked out.

The Kahr CW 45 is one hell of a nice gun... I will also second the PT145 as a nice gun as well though neither fits in what I would call the pocket carry category... IMO, there are no 45's available that would comfortable fit in the pocket... (I automatically exclude derringers and the like...)

IMO, the thinness of the Kahr makes it the most comfortable and concealable compromise available in 45acp... JMHO..

The Glock 27 in .40 is badder than any 45 ACP. Real bear to shoot though! On the positive side, you won't have to oil it every time you shoot it and it will probably never jam and act up like a 1911 so you won't have to constantly spend money on it at the gun smith shop.

The PM45 is the only gun in that caliber even close to being reasonably pocketable, IMO. There is a difference between being able to stick a gun in your pocket for short distances and durations and practical to carry and conceal on a regular basis. I also have a distrust of the ability of a little spring crammed into a small magazine to push the heavy cartridges up in time. In a Glock 30 I once owned, I had to sort through several magazines before I found two that fed 100%.

BTW, the Semmerling is not a semi-auto, it is manually operated, by pushing the slide forward. I want my handguns operable with just one hand, thanks.

Does the G.I. micro feed hollowpoints? I picked up a gently used G.I. lw champion the other day and the sales clerk told me that the G.I. series wouldn't feed hollowpoints and couldn't handle +p loads. I bought it as a range toy so I wasn't concerned, plus the $299 price tag had me sold.

I'm not that familiar with the G.I. models, I have a loaded champion and it feeds hydrashocks with no problems. My G.I. champion choked about every 3rd shot using hps so I can't say for sure if it the model or MY GUN that doesn't like hp ammo.

You may want to check on that before picking up the micro G.I., that would seriously limit your choices of carry ammo if the model does have issues with HP ammo.

That Semmerling LM-4 looks like the trigger guard would smash into your fingers every time you shot it.

I have a Para C6-45. It's a tad smaller in the grip than a 3" 1911. It uses Wilson Centenial 6 round mags.

You might want to wait a while. Ruger just came out with a compact SR9, and now a .40 S&W version of the SR9 (the SR40.) It would stand to reason that next, they'll be coming out with a compact version of the SR40 and then an SR45 and then a compact SR45.

Concerning Ruger i highly doubt they will be making any gun besides a .380 thats even close to pocket-able. Even their compacts are the size of many mid sized guns.
They may great reliable guns tho.

I normally dont like PO and their LDA triggers, But i do like the looks of that one 71Commander.
Detonics makes the Combat master that reminds me alot of the Colt New Agent but several hundred dollars cheaper.

For me i like the PM45, But shooting it has to hurt with it being so small. BUt its not designed to be a range gun anyhow.
I owned the Taurus PT745 which is a single stack version of the PT145 and it was a very small gun and reliable. But again no fun to shoot at the range and recoil made it hard to get back on target without alot of practice.

The CW45 could be a good compromise, Its no pocket gun but highly concealable.
Id love to own a Colt New Agent or Defender, And the S&W perf center looks amazing also.
I too am in the hunt for a micro .45 to go along with my 5" 1911 and XD SC .40 as i just love .45's and id like one smaller than my XD SC.

Ive narrowed it down to the New Agent and Detonics Combat Master and the PM45.
I dont think you could go wrong with any of them and if you dont like it all will hold their value very well at resale time.
