Just brought the Kimber Solo back from the range. Did the recommended break in and ran 24 rds of Hornady TAP JHP through it. Actually they recommend either the Hornady, Federal Hydra Shok JHP or Remington Golden Saber HPJ.

I then ran 29 Federal Hydra Shok JHP through it.

What a great experience over the last pocket carry that I functioned tested. The Sig P238 would FTE till I changed out the recoil spring. The Solo bad boy had zero FTE, zero FTF, zero problems. I also did double taps after running the 24 breakin rds through. It was a pleasure to fire. As for accuracy...more than I am...I don't have targets to post...I was shooting CD disk and some paste on targets, but will tell you this....I have some age on me and my hands are not as stable as they once were, but with a good shooter, you could hold the groups in a fifty cent piece at 10 yards easily.

Bottom line...I will carry this over my Robrbaugh R9, Kahr PM9, or Sig P238...the others are in no way slouches, however, this is a shootin machine. Try it....you'll love it. I am truly excited about this gun, as you can tell. One other thing, I found out that to load with 6+1 you need to let the slide go home by releasing the slide release as opposed to sling shoting it home. It's like the Kahr PM9 in that respect, but that's not a problem for me.

I also cranked off a mag in my Kimber 1911 3" that is suppose to be problem prone....it never got that memo.:)

Very nice gun. It sures looks like a good shooter. If only it wasn't so expensive:cuss:.

I am drooling over the Solo after getting to check one out at my local gun shop. Expensive, but it does look to be worth it.

I, too, have a 3" Kimber that never got the memo on being problem prone. :)

I sense a slobbering love affair developing. ;)

I ran into one a month back. I had difficulties with the mag release. I'm not a 19ll guy so the "feel" of a 1911 is a bit lost on me. That darn one mag things is a PIA. Come on Kimber!

The price was reasonable enough and IIRC is in the league with the PM9.
Definitely needs night sight options.

Very attractive, too heavy for pocket carry IMO, one ounce means alot with these pocket guns.

The one I looked at had tag of about $780 which is reasonable for high quality steel/alloy gun. Very reasonable when compared to Glock or XD "Cool Aid" guns. Kimber has real winner in this piece.

Thanks, I've been waiting for your report.

Sig is replacing my P238 with a new one. Thinking about trading it towards the Solo. Decisions, decisions.

OK...here is the deal on the rubbing on the dust cover by the guide rod. I called Kimber and they are sending me a return label to return the gun and let the techs check it.....if it's just the finish on the inside...that's not a deal for me, however, if it is goin rub the Alum. ....that's a problem that needs addressing.

Could you post picks with it along side some of those other pocket guns you own so we can see how it compares size wise? Thanks.

The Robrbaugh R9 is a good bit smaller, but right now my wife has it and wont give it back....women you know.:)

The Solo is essentially the same size as the Sig P238, so if you can pocket carry the Sig the Solo is not a problem.

can you get a pic of the Solo and 238 on top of each other?

man. i'm now growing interested in the solo.

I just looked at a Solo at the gun show today. It was priced at $725, which seemed a good price, but I couldn't pull the trigger, so to speak, on buying the gun. It looked like a high quality, solid gun. I only saw one magazine in the cardboard box, as well as a gun rug, ... is that all that it comes with, one mag?

I think $725 is MSRP.I ordered a Kimber solo stainless back in Feb.for $629 plus 6% tax.It will be coming in earlier april according to my gunshop.

WOW....high dollar price....I paid $625 + 20 bucks for shipping for mine, and yes one mag. I think they plan on coming out with a 7rd mag later.

The Solo trigger is a SA....easy pull and short pull...I would say for me....triggers are subjective thing....why they make different ones....but for me...I like it better that the DAO PM9.

how would you estimate it to be size-wise for female hands? my wife requested that I ask this. she has been drooling over one since they came out.... thanks
