The chatter on the Boberg forum is really picking up in anticipation of the oft-teased release of the XR9-S (Shorty). I know Kimber released their Micro-9mm Solo. Sig and Kahr have theirs. Who else?

Interestingly, my wife saw the back cover of my NRA First Freedom magazine this weekend and said "Ooohhh. I like THAT one." (pointing at the all stainless model of the Kimber Solo).

She doesn't care for my CZ RAMI - says it's too bulky. She liked my Sig P238 before I sold it. In particular, she likes flashy, polished stainless with wood grips. And she likes them TINY.

I've been watching the Boberg progress with much interest. But have to admit that the Kimber Solo looks VERY interesting. Boberg posted an overlay of their Boberg XR9-S Shorty vs the Kimber Solo here: http://www.bobergarms.com/photo/boberg-xr9s-vs-kimber-solo?context=user

I'm sure, though, that the trend will be to produce these strictly for the CCW market and therefore, in all black or MOSTLY black polymer frame...

I hadn't heard about the XR9S. It certainly is an interesting little fellow. What is the price going to be?

If cost were no object, the Boberg would be the way to go, but I'm leaning toward the Kahr econo-version of the PM9. I have owned a Kahr MK9 for several years and I like it a lot. But it is a heavy sucker despite its small size. It is a great holster gun but too heavy for a pocket.

I've pretty much ruled out all the micro 9's for summer/pocket carry other than the Kahr CM9. MY EDC is a Kahr K9, I want something smaller and lighter as a grab & go gun, that's easy in the hot weather.
I trust Kahr's design to work, I know the size/weight of the CM9 will work for my needs and its price will be right.

Kahr PM9 or the new budget CM9. The PM9 is a proven design. It runs well and can be had for about $560 or so which puts it well below the Kimber and the new Sig.

I personally have no interest in being a beta tester for anyone and the delays in the Boberg are enough for me not to even consider it for a long time.

In my opinion, the Boberg is like the VLTOR Bren Ten. Too much hype, not enough results. I'll wait till I actually see a Boberg before I can make an opinion. That being said, I really would like a Boberg... I just am not gonna hold my breath.
