A friend of mine is thinking about selling his Colt Sp-1 "Commando" transferable machine gun with all sorts of additional bits (9mm Oly upper/bolt/mags, full length Colt upper, mags, stocks, ...) for some silly reason like, ohhhhh, the last time it was shot was 2 years ago at my place. I understand his predicament, why keep a toy that you don't play with and that isn't appreciating.

Okay, what's the point of this thread. Are you just rubbing this in our faces or will Buddy entertain offers here? For some reason, I think there should have been a couple  emoticons in your OP. It lacks the mischievous emotion that I'm sensing. :D

Can that be multi caliber or 9mm only?

It's an SP1 lower. Why would you be restricted in any way as to what caliber uppers you install on your machine gun?

Also, I second the question: was there a point to this post? :)

Jeeze guys. I'm commenting that he's selling it because he doesn't shoot it in spite of the fact that it's a nice setup. Even machine-guns aren't any different from other safe queens in that respect.

If anyone is interested in buying it I'll get the particulars from him and post them and anyone can contact him.

I wish, but I'm still in California.

The lower is the key to the AR. By swapping out the uppers, you can change the caliber and configuration.

We're just giving you a hard time, hso. It was almost like you were bragging that you got to shoot it. "I know someone with a machine gun. Nyah nyah!" ;)

Aaron,

I know too many people with machine guns that I've gotten to shoot to brag about it. (Except the full auto shorty Siaga 12 I got to shoot at CCA. Now THAT was FUN!)

They are fun, until you realize you can't afford to feed their voracious appetite.

Does he accept first born children in lieu of cash?

I thought some Colt lowers were 9mm only, like the mag well was blocked.

You are correct. Colt factory 9mm lowers have pinned in mag blocks.

Don't know if it is feasible to remove them without destroying something.

It's no problem. Pop three roll pins, drop the mag blocks out and change the 9mm last round bolt stop to a standard one.
