I shoot a 45ACP & reload my ammo, My Question for 45 shooters that reload
where is a reasonable place to buy Bullets for Practice to reload that wont break the Bank ? Thanks Guys
 
I have a LGS that sells zero's. Those are the cheapest ive found so far, and a fine projectile i might add.

If you're ok with shooting lead, check out MBC.
 
Montana Gold

Montana Gold has a very good quality, jacketed, 230g, several actually, in quantity about $0.165 each, about as cheap as I've seen. Hornady in lots of 2000 @ Powder Valley a good deal too.

If you want reloads that won't break the bank, you should take up casting your own bullets. Reloading for less than the price of .22 rimfire is just SO satisfying.:D

I like mastercastbullets.com $60 a 1000 for 230. Ande mastercast.net they have great hard cast bullets. I personally havent had the luck everyone else has had with missouri bullets.
 
I usually shoot Missouri Bullets or Penn Bullets LSWC for practice. I usually get my Missouri Bullets from Powder Valley Inc, great prices and quick delivery. They also carry Berrys Bullets. For matches I like Precision Bullets. They cost just a little more than lead, but dont have all the negatives of shooting lead (smoke, etc).
 
There's a gunstore near me that sells Bear Creek Moly 230gn RN for $42/500. I don't know if they're available online anywhere.

Another vote for Missouri Bullet Company. I always have a good supply on hand. They are great quality at the right price. I would suggest them solely for the customer service, the fact that they make top notch bullets is simply a bonus.
 
Bullets

My dealer told me all of MB were .452, I can only use .451 in my old S&W
645 auto. I wouldnt think 1 thousand of an inch would make that much difference but the ole girl wont shoot um.

Is this taking into account jacketed bullets are generally .451 for 45 ACP and lead bullets are typically sized .452?

It's pretty standard for lead to be +.001 over jacketed, unless you have a very tight bore.
 
I have a pair of 645's and the MB .452 in various weights work great in mine. I use the 230 grain Hard Ball mostly and I have no problems. I do have to expand the neck enough and make sure the taper crimp is shrunk enough so that they will feed as the chamber is tightish in them both. They do shoot really great however.
 
i use x-treme plated bullets from tjconevera.com in my 9and 40 just got my 45 and the bullets are on the way. 115/1000
 
Penn will do custom sizing. I have had several bullets sized to my specs.
