Bill Wilson Carry vs. Dan Wesson CCO?

I don't think you would go wrong with either one. I was bit by the same bug months ago and have saved the cash to get a Wilson, but I just can not seem to pull the trigger (pun intended) - it is just a LOT of money. That said, if I could find a decent used one, it would be tempting. When I was looking a local dealer had a Brown and a Dan Wesson. He tried to convince me that the DW was a lot of gun for the money, it probably is, but I wanted a Wilson. I did a bunch of research and went back a couple of days later to take a second look at the DW, but it was gone as was the Brown. Seem that quality is still selling well. Good luck.

I really don't see how you can even compair the 2 other than both a 1911 , 45 type pistol. I have a Dan Wesson CBOB great pistol but not close to a Wilson in quality.

I guess it would depend. If you were bent on getting the BEST semi-custom compact 1911, then Wilson is probably your choice.

If you were wanting to buy a REALLY GOOD semi-custom compact 1911 and then spend the saved money on ammo, accessories, or training, then the CCO is your choice.

It is one of those cases where the law deminishing returns comes into play. The Wilson from a purely objective stand point is the better gun IMHO but is it 70% better?

When you are a looking at a the $1400 DW what is the Wilson going to do that the DW isn't. If money were not part of the equation then Wilson would win everytime but that is not the reality for most of us.

Agreed. However, one thing not taken into consideration is pride of ownership. Material and petty, I know, but some folks just want a Wilson, or Nighthawk, or whatever. And there's nothing wrong with that IMO. If that's the case, then I say get the Bill Wilson, or you may be kicking yourself afterwards. On the other hand, if, like many of us, you approach the purchase as you would the purchase of a tool, the $1000 hammer will drive a nail just as good as the $2000 hammer. I guess you want to decide how important the name and the slightly better fit and finish is to you. I wouldn't fault you either way you go on this one.

Don't get me wrong I am not saying I wouldn't buy the Wilson. I have a Les Baer and love it. I have a Custom CCO and love it. I have a custom BHP which I love too. For me these are more than tools. LOL.

This is like the time I couldn't decide between Kate Upton and Bar Refaeli so I just opened up to page 297 of the J.C. Penney catalog and locked myself in my room.

I also have a Glock 23 holding the spot in my safe a DW Vbob would fit nicely into. But at least I prefere my fullsize Valor to a fullsize G21.
