CZ-82 Fail to Feed(FTF)/Slide Locked

what type of ammo?
was it HP?

what condition was your mag in
and it IS a Czech ARMY marked mag, and not a .380 commercial mag??
which can work but need feed lip work.

Something like that might be easy to diagnose in person but hard to figure out based on a text description

You could have a gun that has been improperly assembled at some point, it could be something in the manual safety moving up under recoil or by your thumb, your chamber could have a burr in it that is locking onto spent cases, there might be foreign material in there somewhere, or something might be coming loose.

Describe "playing with it and it finally released" in more detail, maybe?

The real problem though is the unexplained slide locking in the forward position.

With or without a round in the chamber? I assume with. Perhaps the chamber needs a good cleaning, or it could be the bullet sticking in the throat, which sometimes occurs in ammo that's out of spec.

Post up some good pics of the chamber. Something is up.

how will that help with extraction?

I was having this same problem, I think. When you say it's 'locked' forward is there still a little 'play' in the slide, but you just can't get it back? If so, this is exactly what mine was doing. It was the pin that holds the ejector, I think, that had 'walked' out and was protruding into the rail and interfering with the slide. I ended up pushing it out a little ways and putting some loctite on it before setting it back in place.

I've been to the range twice since that 'fix' and have had no further problems. I do plan to replace that pin with a new one when I take it down to do a refinish in the near future.

It won't, but the OP also mentioned feed problems.

Fat Dave and #10, if it does not go in right it will not come out right.

Seems to me you need to do the easiest first and that is to eliminate the possibility that the brand of ammo you are using is the cause of the problem. Try the Sellier and Beloit.

A properly functioning cz-82 will eat steel cased garbage like a pitbull eats a porkchop. The ammo isn't the problem here.

I think Mark's onto something here. These little pins can walk. Should be located in the frame rail right above the safety. I've noticed after a couple hundred rounds the pin inches out. I just push it back in when cleaning and it's good to go again for awhile but plan to loctite or replace like mentioned.

I have heard some ramblings of 82s choking specifically on Wolf ammo but I agree, I don't believe that's his problem.

I just buy the Silver Bear for cheap plinking ammo as its been perfect with nearly a thousand rounds of FMJ & HP.

I have a gun with that little pin coming up. This one drags on the slide and can't come up any farther. I tap it down at cleanup and forget about it.

Yours is a more dangerous situation. Loctite seems the answer.
