Although I had been looking to find a pre-model 27, I ended up acquiring this GEORGEOUS model 27 "No dash" 4-screw 5" revolver. Inside the box under the gun is a "Handling the Handgun" pamphlet and a waranty card(Not pictured). The serial number is 1990xx. For being 52 years old this revolver has not been fired much-but, the turn line was mostly from fondling the gun. It is amazing how much nicer the older bluing is compared to the late 1970's 27-2's::what:

The four screw gun with 5" barrel target hammer plus trigger is very pleasing to the eye and desirable Model 27.

My 5"er started life as a 27-5 Skeeter Skelton model but, I sure love that gun, the other one is a 27-2.

Both of your 27's are beauties! Although, my preference is for your 3.5" 27-2! Maybe some day I'll be able to acquire one of those, as well?

I've seen that gun somewhere else.;)
I still can't find anything wrong with it.

I've got one just like it and it is my favorite shooter.

Beautiful, just beautiful. I got a blue box 6" back in the early 1970s and soon sent it back to S&W for a 5" barrel - I sent back a lot of guns in those days for one thing or another. The bluing on those things was so deep it looked wet, as did the fine Python. You have a rare treasure.
