I'm interested in getting back into .45, and I think that Springfield does a better .45 than Glock so I'm looking at the new XDm. So I walked into a local shop in Lubbock and I made my way to the Springfield section, and they want $749 for a USED XDm 4.5 incher. No night sights, no extras, no nothing. I checked with the clerk to make sure that they didn't put the wrong price on it. Nope, that's the price, he says. He looked at me like I was a fool for asking.
That's about $125 higher than I've seen the same gun for NEW at a shop in Austin, and that Austin shop is not known for especially low prices. What are they thinking? While there I also heard them offer a guy $250 for a spotless LNIB Gen4 Glock 19. Today was first time walking in there, and it'll be my last. I don't know how gun shops can survive gouging their customers like this, but I guess a sucker's born every minute.
