How do you guys get rid of all media from brass so that it doesn't clog a case feeder?

I shifted my 40sw brass when removing from tumbler and then before putting into my Hornday case feeder. I have been using a sifting pan, looks like a gold miners pan. The remaining media (very little) goes down the feeder tube and wedges between a case and the drop tube.

Is this inevitable?
or
Get a different media separator?
or
Run the case feeder for a while with the drop door closed and let the remaining media fall through the back side?

Yes.
I made this rotary one out of hail screen and wood scrap.
A few rotations and there is nothing left in anything.

Or, strain out all you can get out with the sifter.
Then put the cases back in the cleaned empty tumbler and shake the snot out of them for 10-15 minutes with no media.

I grab a fistfull and have them facing all down and tap them into the media bowl and that has stopped my dealings with media in the case... sound like a lot of trouble but on the flip side no stuck cases nor improper load charges.

I would use the Dillon media separator and jog it back and forth 1/2 turn or so and that removed all the media except what was in the flash holes. Got sick of the media and dust so I now wet tumble. I like it better but it is a little more labor intensive and slower when you add brass drying time into it.

I am a 75 year old confirmed cheap skate, but I will have to say that some of the best money I have ever spent on reloading was for a Berry's rotary sifter. A few cranks each way and the media is ALL gone. Using a sifter, I could never get rid of it all.

I have one like the one in Uncle Richards post above. Works great on pistol brass. .223 still gets a few cases with media jammed in them. You do need to check primer pockets because little pieces can get wedged in there.

I may not get the FA. Leaning towards RCBS rotary or the Dillon, which is much more durable; however, the reviews for the RCBS is really good. I like the RCBS better due to having a lid.

I drilled a couple of small (3/16"dia) drain holes in the brass feeder collator to dump what's little media that is left and never had a problem. The rotation of the feed pushes it to the right side facing it. So I put my hole along that side with a small little cap to catch what falls out. This is just off center to the side of the square support tubing. I don't load 40 but do 9mm and 45acp without any issues of media stopping the brass in the drop tube.

I'm using the finer 20/40 media which flow freely.
