IWI Umarex .22 Uzi Pistol

I hope it is better made than all the other Umarex .22s I've encountered. I tried to talk a friend out of buying the Umarex made HK .22LR AR and getting the tac sol upper for his existing AR instead. He went with the HK, had nothing but problems months with a variety of ammunition. He finally sold it. The Umarex made colts I've been exposed to were equally horrible. If it were me I would hold of on anything Umarex made until it proved itself.

The Umarex HK MP5 (Walther) I had was excellent. Ate everything and was top notch quality. I've heard the "Colt" series they sold had some issues though.

That's my only experience with Umarex. My gun was made by Walther, which I think makes most if not all of Umarex rimfires. That explains the hit or miss on models if you have owned any Walthers. They knock it out of the park with one system...but another is a total dud.

I'll always have a place for in my heart tacti-cool .22s...they got me back into this hobby after a 5yr hiatus. But for the price, I'd just spend a $100 more and pick up a 9mm "UZI" style gun.

This! I too have an H&K MP-5SD .22 and it has been EXCELLENT!!! One of my other "tactical .22s" is a Sig 522 that it has been one ammo picky SOB! Yes, the Umarex MP-5 is a PITA to detail strip for cleaning although getting in there with Q-tips and a bore snake makes routine cleaning much easier. All-in-all, the MP-5 models have been excellent and I would be curious how the UZI variants work out. Hopefully more towards the MP-5 side of the scale and not the M4 side since I too have heard they have been having "issues."

Just for reference, the "Walther" P22 is actually made by Umarex... and whole websites are dedicated to making that firearm work properly.

Just my 2 cents.

We have one of the Uzi .22 pistols in the gun shop I work at and it feels like a solid built gun. Weight and balance feels like the real thing, so that being said I don't have much desire to own one. The Uzi rifle in .22 appeals to me a lot more.

Personally I think Umarex has come a long way in it's quality control. I took a chance and picked up the Umarex MP5 and so far it's proven to be a well built and fun little plinker and doesn't seem to be picky on ammo. I've owned a couple GSG-5's in the past and they seemed more picky about ammo than my Umarex.

I'm glad that all these clones by Umarex are coming in. My son is getting of age that I think he'd enjoy one of these. At one time I would have got him a 10/22 and been done with it. Now there are so many interesting choices. The Uzi I think would be more of a fun toy for someone of my generation. The prices will come down when supply exceeds demand I hope.

My Colt/Umarex 1911 in .22lr is a great gun. Eats everything, including bulk ammo. Very accurate and well made

Honestly i can't comment on that. I have only held the browning once in a shop and immediately put it down. The smaller size turned me off. So I do not have enough knowledge on the Browning to be accurate. It seemed like a good gun just too small for me

As for my Colt, it has a nice weight to it. It feels solid. The slide fit is good, as are the slide stop, safeties, and mag release. It is a well made gun.

Will it last as long as my Ruger MKIII and Single Six, don't know only time will tell. I doubt it though, but it is a good gun
